1906 b/w ppc of the Officers' Quarters, St. Ann's sent without text to Millars Estate, Antigua with 1d Nelson tied 4 CONCENTRIC CIRCLES dumb handstamp showing ST. JOHN'S MR 7 06 arrival alongside, some soiling.
Believed to be made with the end of an abony ruler and used in Antigua in cases of emergency or for use on incoming ship mail.

The storming of the Tuileries Palace on August 10 1791 was one of the defining moments of the French revolution. Grenada had two periods of French occupation, the last being period 1779-1783

Only two covers with 2nd Parish Type INVERTED "B" are currently recorded, the other dated DE 12 95

1884 cover to Thomas Duncan, London with QV ½d dull green pair, QV 4d greyish slate (SG.30,33) pmk'd First Type Parish "D" dated MAY 8 84, reverse hooded red London B/MY 28 84/AD arrival, some smaller faults.
The extra 1d being a special inland surcharge which Grenada imposed from January 1st 1881 to September 1885 in violation of UPU rules. Only 6 covers with this 5d rate are currently recorded, this being the only one with pair ½d adhesives for the extra 1d surcharge

Contents mention the return on Mr. Barclay to his native country after an absence of upwards of twenty years, and "some disturbances among the Negroes which we must expect owing to the fanatical Biggots in England".
