War Tax specialist John Cranmer has a positional multiple from top left pane (without Plate number) showing the variety Row 3/5. This prominent variety NOT listed in the newly published War Tax Stamps of the British Empire by John G.M. Davis.

from Kingston 16th April, prepaid 1/3 in red, enclosing affidavit sworn before Alexander Allardice, Justice of the Peace, on the Holy Evangelists of almighty God that leakage of Madeira on board the Fanny, Capt. Sinclair was owing entirely to the badness of the Cask. Some water-stained edges.

to J. Brown, Clerk of the Peace, Montego Bay signed J. Rowe, Custos Rotulorom. Some staining, rarely available.
The Custos Rotulorom was a district magistrate and chairman of local councils called vestrys. He was entitle to free post if he signed the envelope).
