Buy with confidence as I have been trading full time since 1978. This too is a "work-in-progress" file (meaning that I add more covers as and when I see them). A wonderful array of 654 covers illustrated mainly in colour with text descriptions arranged in chronological sequence spanning period 1859-1901. Provenance given when known. ST. VINCENT used GIBRALTAR postal history
1889 use of the St. Vincent QV 1d UPU Post Card ovp'd "GIBRALTAR" headed "Government House August 12 1889" to Munich, Germany with design pmk'd "A26" duplex dated B/AU 14 89.
Sterling issues ovp'd in CENTIMOS were introduced 1st August 1889. This duplex not listed in the Parmenter/Gordon handbook as handbook only covers cancellations used on GB stamps up to the end of 1885 when the use of GB stamps in Gibraltar officially ceased. The earliest strikes of this duplex are currently thought to be MY 6 1886 and MY 24 1886.

1887 use of the ST. VINCENT QV 1d carmine Post Card overprinted for use in GIBRALTAR written from MOGADOR with "Mog. 5/4 87" with turquoise PER "EMPUSA" to Stuttgart, Germany pmk'd at Gibraltar with "A26" duplex dated A/AP 10 87, some harsher toning.

1880 mourning wrapper from Larios Hermanos to Genoa, Italy with GB QV 2½d Plate 17 tied "A26" duplex dated A/MY 5 08 (year error), backstamped top flap for display with Estafeta De Cambio, Madrid (MY 7) and Genova (10 5-80).

1880 mourning cover to Sir. Thomas Hare, Stow Hall (2nd Baronet 1807-1880), Downham Market, Norfolk with GB QV 2½d blue Plate 17 tied Gibraltar duplex dated A/MR 21 08 (year error), backstamped superb Downham A/MR 26 60 cds, small faults.
Early use of the "08" year error and early use GB QV 2½d blue Plate 17 as issued in Great Britain FE 5 1880.
