1875 cover to Offenbach, Germany with QV 1d x 2, 6d tied "B31" showing Liverpool 22 JY 75 and London 23 JY 75 transits, reverse with finely struck red PAID-AT-SIERRA-LEONE JY 7 1875 broken dbl-arc with Offenbach 24 7 75 arrival. A very rare early cover to Germany.
Few destinations are recorded with QV adhesives prior entry to the UPU, only to England, France, Germany (only this cover), Ireland, Sierra Leone (locally addressed), and the USA are known to me.

1882 stampless cover to Warin, Mecklenburg (Western Pomeramia), Germany marked along top "p. N. German Bark Alma Elisabeth/Received on bord near the Equator" landed with FALMOUTH SHIP LETTER cds dated AP 19 72 and rated "5" in blue crayon, side flap opens to display further FALMOUTH SHIP LETTER AP 19 72 cds overstruck red SHIP LETTER LONDON A/AP 20 72 as it travelled in the overnight sealed ship letter bag with turquoise VERVIERE (Belgium) 20 4 transit, a little sea water staining at left.
A lovely research item.

INAGUA, Bahamas postal history
1903 use of KE7 1d UPU Post Card with full German text headed "17.9.03" pmk'd INAGUA SP 18 without year to Lubeck, Germany re-directed to Charlottenberg with handstamped and 14.10.03 pmk'd label affixed which translates "Not determined, confirmed P.A.I. Charlottenburg" and "Work of reference, recognised" (Nachschlagewerke eingesehen), unusual.

Wreck of the 'Schiller' (Hoboken N.J, Scilly Isles, Germany's "Titanic"), Canada postal history
THE ONLY RECORDED WRECK COVER ORIGINATING FROM CANADA marked "Via United States" with Small Queen 2c green x 2, QV 6c brown x 2 pmk'd HALIFAX N.S. A/AP 22 75 duplex to The Manager, The Imperial Bank, Lothbury, London taken from the wrecked S.S. Schiller on the Retarrier Ledges, Scilly Isles to London where red London Paid 10 MY 75 cds applied, reverse with handwritten contemporary endorsement of "This Envelope was down in the Sr. Ship Schiller wrecked on a rock off the Scilly Isles in the month of May 1875".
Accompanied by a wonderfully easy to read pre-owned copy of "The Victorian Titanic".

BETHANY (STATION excised) R.O., Orange River Colony
the tall letters cds (Putzel unlisted) dated SP 4 (00) on ½d Brief Kaart uprated with ½d for Germany, b/stamped Bloemfontein SP 4 19(00).
The BETHANY STATION R.O. sighting was taken from the Batten collection (still intact) where only the "S" was visible but a full strike on loose stamp shows it to be BETHANY SIDING R.O. The correction will appear in the Putzel addendum
