VINCENT postal history (STV69005) 1885 spectacular appearance reg. cover to Winch Brothers, Colchester with two pairs and four singles 1d on QV 2½d on 1d lake (SG.46) all tied vertical black A10 obliterators with red Kingstown C/AP 28 85, London reg. oval 12 MY 85 on address panel with same date arrival backstamp, all adhesives faded and the lowest copy (belonging) lifted and hinged in place having had watermark examined. An absolute gem in my books Ex BESSEMER, JAFFE, and DUGGLEBY. This provisional was placed on sale on MR 18 1885 and was used on local mail with the K datestamp for eleven days MR 18 to MR 28 1885 with first dated K on newly arrived QV 1d red (SG.48) known pmkd K AP 2 1885. Overseas mail being cancelled with the vertical A10 making this an in-period commercial cover. £950 |
