1814 entire written both FE 13 and MR 14 and marked "p. Sandwich packet" to William Cruikshank, Arbroath, North Britain rated 2/7 with SPANISH TOWN/JA struck across reverse join, Scottish toll applied.

1836 large piece outer wrapper to Grenada docketted "Jamaica 30th Sept. 1836" rated black "4" and "2/6d unpaid with poor KINGSTON OC 8 1836 on upper flap. Part contents imply that "acts of rebellion" had been committed in St. Thomas in the Vale and surrounding districts by the Apprentices and their Masters and Managers.

January 1st 1851 printed circular from Kingston to London rated 1/- in black with MR 10 1851 arrival additionally showing circular 5/NEW YORK/FEB 26 and red framed MAITLAND PHELPS & Co/NEW-YORK cachet.
The circular 10/NEW YORK (half ounce mail) and 20/NEW YORK (under one ounce mail) are regular seen, but the 5/NEW YORK on printed matter very seldom seen on BWI correspondence.

Entire written Glasgow 17th Oct. 1812 to Kingston, Jamaica rated 4/10 and docketed “per Nymph packet” and 15 Jan. 1813 arrival. Contents include mention of Patterns of Seersuckers and Pullicatures (fabrics) by the Monarch which will sail tomorrow, and showing the symbols of the shipper’s marking for cargoes by the Emerald, Jenny, Monarch, Stranger, Flussan, and by the Eliza.

ANTIGUA postal history
1841 lengthy written entire about Estate matters headed "Antigua 6th December 1841" to Robert Sutton, East Bilney, Norfolk rated 1/- (quarter ounce) showing ANTIGUA DE 6 1841 on lower flap, DEREHAM JA 23 1842 above address panel, and London JA 21 1842 on top flap.
The quarter ounce rate was period JA 1 1840 to DE 31 1841 and most of the known correspondence has the ANTIGUA fleuron. Only one other ANTIGUA dbl-arc entire is currently recorded for the 1/- quarter ounce period (dated OC 6 1841).

Contents include "Mr. Meredith, Postmaster & clerk of the vestry, died lately at Martha Brae"

BARBADOS postal history
1854 entire written London and pmk'd NO 1 1854 to David Rees, R.M.S.P. Derwent, Barbados rated both "5" and "6" (each deleted) with BARBADOES NO 21 1854 dbl-arc across reverse flap and additionally marked manuscript "Left the Service" and "unclaimed". Writer commiserates with Rees' failure to get the expected promotion in the RMSP Company and encloses a £30 draft drawn on the Colonial Bank on account of a legacy. Additionally marked "Received 12 March 1855" so it is assumed that the letter eventually caught up with him.

1861 entire to John Jeffrey & Co, Brewers, Edinburgh with red BELIZE PAID dated C/FE 16 61 rated red "5", reverse Edinburgh Z/MR 17 61 arrival.
Contents include "a parcel of beer per "Viceroy" has just come to hand, and we anticipate a speedy sale for it".

NASSAU via PHILADELPHIA to LONDON, Bahamas postal history
1852 outer wrapper docketted "Nassau 13 Oct 1852" landed blue PHILADELPHIA OCT 30 showing "24" surface charge to New York (where it caught the Cunard steamer “Europa” to Liverpool) and black circled "5" for ship to The Rev. George Osborn, Wesleyan Mission House, London rated 1/- with 17 NO arrival backstamp.
In late September 1852 there was an outbreak of cholera in the Bahamas in which over a 1,000 persons died within a period of five months. The Daily Atlas described “Vessels in the harbour being crowded with people fleeing the scourge”. Also on NO 17 1852 the RMSP "La Plata" arrived Southampton “under melancholy circumstances” – nine dead on board and 21 taken ill during the voyage from the West Indies (Pratique 6/02).

1835 entire written June 17th from Anne Edgar, 6 Mary Place, to her son Alexander Edgar, 2nd West Indies Regiment, Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas re-directed Honduras (docketted as received 18 Oct 35) rated 2/5 plus Scottish toll tax "½".
Scottish toll applied on more than two wheel mail carrying coaches period June 18th 1813 to December 5th 1839.
